Indian Stock Markets End Friday on a Positive Note

Indian benchmark equity indices ended Friday’s trading session higher, supported by strong buying in information technology and pharmaceutical stocks. The recovery came despite continued concerns about elevated crude oil prices and weakness in broader markets.

The BSE Sensex advanced 308.49 points, or 0.42%, to close at 74,459.53. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 gained 116.35 points, or 0.51%, finishing at 23,053.10.

The gains helped the Nifty reclaim the psychologically important 23,000 level.

IT and Pharmaceutical Stocks Lead the Rally

Sensex Nifty Today: Information technology companies were among the strongest performers during the session.

The Nifty IT index gained 2.16%, while the Nifty Pharma index advanced 1.67%. Healthcare stocks also performed well, with the Nifty Healthcare index rising 1.59%.

Investors showed renewed interest in selected large-cap companies as they evaluated corporate earnings and global economic developments.

Sensex Nifty Today: Broader Markets Remain Under Pressure

Despite gains in benchmark indices, the overall market showed signs of weakness.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 declined approximately 1.85%, while the Nifty Midcap 100 lost around 0.93%.

Selling pressure was also visible in automobile, real estate, metal and public-sector banking stocks.

This divergence suggests that investors remained selective rather than participating in a broad-based market rally.

What Investors Should Watch Next

Sensex Nifty Today: Market participants will closely monitor corporate earnings, foreign institutional investment flows, crude oil prices and global monetary policy.

Sustained buying in major technology and financial companies could help support benchmark indices. However, continued weakness in mid-cap and small-cap stocks may indicate underlying caution.

Outlook: India’s benchmark indices have regained some momentum, but the uneven performance across sectors suggests investors should remain attentive to market volatility.
